In our last post we talked about the security of your data. This week we talk about the security of your devices to keep you safe.
Whether you own a mobile, tablet, laptop or computer you will be affected by Spectre (not linked to James Bond) or Meltdown. The reason is that this affects the hardware components of your device whether you are running Windows, Apple, Android, Unix or Linux. They all share the components from Intel, Arm or AMD. More info about these two vulnerabilities can be found on this website.
How do we stay safe?
Our team have worked with a number of systems and have a process in place to ensure your hardware and software are updated with the correct patch.
We urge that you keep your systems up to date and the automatic updates are switched on. If you are running Windows 10 or 8.1 Microsoft have released prompt updates. Apple have also released updates. Both Linux and Android systems are working on updates so ensure the settings are updated.
For computer users, there are additional tasks to keep you safe. Each computer is different from the next and we are working in Southampton Hampshire. Please drop us an email or contact the team on 01489 290 001 for further assistance.
